Some time ago I reached out to VW folk about this fabric which I have been working tirelessly to get reproduced. I’ve been on a rollercoaster journey of ups and downs.

But I have now got a company in Holland that has a similar desire to reproduce this fabric. It is a 1 year only fabric, which was made for Indiana Red and Black beetles of that year, in the European market. The confirmation of this production is at its final stages before going to their weaver to be made. The weaver has been in possession of of sample piece of my own personal piece of original Fur Grey fabric. Which is what the due process is coming from. The company already produce, and stock the other 2 European colours in this fabric piece (which I have attached on this post) to show the quality of this fabric production.

I am now at the stage where final meterage and costings comes into play. Although the company want to stock it in there catalogue I have committed to a personal amount. I am now in the process of giving my final figures to the company and want to reach out to anyone who wants to also commit to a meterage and anyone in the industry of upholstery that is keen. Let’s face it, it will be another nice fabric that would be on the market due to my perseverance.

Please email me for finer dets if seriously interested.

For sale is my 1957 Beetle, which I have owned for 22 years and is fully roadworthy. It is finished in Polar Silver and has a beautiful contrasting red leatherette upholstery. The car has been restored a number of years ago and is in solid condition, having had new heater channels and welding carried out in all the usual places. The underside has been under sealed for protection. The car has had a lot of money spent on it over the years and I have numerous receipts and photos to show the work done to the car. I believe the car was originally registered in Singapore before being imported into the UK in around 1958. It is currently running with a later 1600cc engine and gearbox, although included in the sale is a correct 30hp engine and gearbox, so it can easily be put back to stock if required. The front suspension has been lowered slightly and ‘Smart’ tyres have been fitted to the stock front wheels. The car has an interesting and original registration number. However I would not want to separate this from the car after 66 plus years! Although valued at £17,000 for insurance purposes, the car is sensibly priced at £11,000 which includes the spare engine and gearbox, should the new owner wish to put the car back to stock. The car is located in Cheshire and for more information, interested parties should contact: Mrs A Ogden 073 845 80866 or 0161 486 0760
