This local paper advert from 1963 shows just how the Volkswagen was advertised. This dealership has significance to the Historic Volkswagen Club as it is where the President found his 1949 Beetle in 1972 (not 1976 as it says in VolksWorld March 2009) and yes he did only pay £10 for the car TJJ 62!
Sadly that premises is now a FIAT dealership but the VW dealer is only a mile or so away.
